It is printed at high resolution with two levels of finish:

Unpainted: plain black plastic
Painted: Silver highlights and red axe handle the way you see in the pictures.

Why would you put it out of sight anyway?It's too beautiful to put on the floor behind a door. 

However, if you need it to stop doors, all you need to do is to put a coating of rubber silicone on the bottom so it won't slide.
